Operational Performance™ Consulting

Strengthen How the Work Gets Done

As a business grows, how the work gets done does not always grow with it. Processes that once worked become inefficient. Responsibilities overlap. Decisions bottleneck. Managers handle things differently. Important handoffs get missed. And too much still comes back to the owner or senior leader.

Operational Performance™ Consulting helps strengthen the way your business actually runs. We look across the business to understand how work moves, where performance is being lost, and what needs to change to improve execution, consistency, and accountability.

Operational Performance™ Consulting helps small businesses and operations-driven companies strengthen the workflows, ownership, management execution, communication, decision-making, and accountability behind day-to-day performance.

Designed For Small Businesses · Blue-Collar Businesses · Operations-Driven Companies
One Service · Different Business Environments

Operational Problems Are Not Limited to One Type of Business

A medical practice and a manufacturing company may look very different, but both can lose time, money, and consistency when responsibilities are unclear, decisions bottleneck, managers lack authority, recurring work is poorly organized, or too much depends on the owner.

Small Business

When Growth Outpaces the Way the Business Is Organized

Small businesses may reach a point where the owner, practice manager, general manager, office manager, or other key leader is still carrying too many decisions and recurring responsibilities. Operational Performance™ helps clarify ownership, strengthen management, improve workflows, and reduce unnecessary dependence on one person.

Blue-Collar & Operations-Driven

When the Work Is Moving, but the Operation Is Still Losing Ground

In operations-driven businesses, breakdowns can show up through missed handoffs, inconsistent supervision, rework, delays, unclear authority, poor follow-through, rising overtime, or recurring problems between the field, shop, warehouse, production floor, and office.

Operational Performance™ Applies Wherever People, Processes, and Management Have to Work Together

The industry may be different, but the underlying problems are often similar: unclear responsibility, inconsistent management, weak handoffs, bottlenecks, recurring mistakes, poor follow-through, or too much work returning to the owner.

Start With What You Are Seeing

You Do Not Need to Know Exactly What Is Causing It

You bring us what you are seeing in the business. We trace what is happening through the workflow, management structure, responsibilities, systems, and day-to-day processes to identify what may be getting in the way.

Work is taking longer than it should.

Mistakes, rework, or missed steps keep happening.

Managers are not taking ownership of routine decisions.

Departments, locations, or team members are not working well together.

Employee performance or follow-through is inconsistent.

Approvals or decisions are slowing down the work.

The business has grown, but too many day-to-day decisions still come back to the owner.

Administrative work, scheduling, customer follow-up, documentation, or other recurring responsibilities are falling through the cracks.

We trace what is happening through the business, identify where the breakdown is occurring, and help put a stronger structure in place.

From Insight to Implementation

Strengthen the Structure Behind the Work

Clarify Who Owns What

Define responsibilities, decision authority, and escalation points so work does not stall between people, departments, or locations.

Improve How Work Moves

Strengthen workflows, handoffs, communication, and recurring processes that support reliable day-to-day execution.

Strengthen Management Execution

Create clearer expectations, authority, and accountability for managers and others responsible for getting the work done.

Improve Operational Consistency

Put practical processes and controls in place so work is handled more consistently across the business.

Identify Where Technology Can Help

Review repetitive, manual, or inefficient work to identify where existing systems, customized automation, or AI-assisted workflows may improve efficiency, strengthen follow-through, or reduce unnecessary administrative work.

When an operational change also requires updates to roles, training, management expectations, employee processes, or other HR systems, those areas can be addressed as part of the implementation.
The Goal

A business that runs more consistently, with clearer ownership, stronger execution, and less unnecessary dependence on the owner.

Frequently Asked Questions

Operational Performance™ FAQ

Is Operational Performance™ only for blue-collar businesses?

No. Operational Performance™ Consulting supports both small businesses and operations-driven companies. The service focuses on how work gets done—workflow, responsibilities, decision-making, management execution, communication, accountability, systems, and follow-through.

Is Operational Performance™ an HR service?

No. Operational Performance™ focuses on how the business operates—its workflows, responsibilities, management structure, communication, accountability, and execution. When an operational issue also involves workforce or HR systems, those areas may be addressed as part of the work.

Do I need to know what is causing the issue before contacting you?

No. You only need to know what you are seeing in the business. Part of the assessment is determining what may be contributing to the issue and where improvement should begin.

Does the $3,500 assessment cover my entire company?

No. The assessment focuses on one defined operational area or recurring performance concern so the review can be meaningful, focused, and actionable.

What happens after the assessment?

You receive findings, prioritized recommendations, and a practical path forward. You may choose to implement the recommendations internally or engage Sherry Pulcher for additional Operational Performance™ implementation support.

Can I go directly into a full Operational Performance™ Engagement?

Yes. If the scope is clear and a larger engagement is appropriate, the assessment work can be incorporated into the overall project rather than treated as a separate engagement.

Do you recommend AI or automation?

When appropriate. Operational Performance™ starts with the business problem—not the technology. We look at how the work is currently being handled and determine whether stronger processes, clearer responsibilities, staffing, existing systems, automation, AI-assisted workflows, or a combination of these may improve the operation.

Can you help determine whether we need to hire someone or improve the way the work is being handled?

Yes. Adding another employee is not always the first or only answer. We look at the work that needs to be done, who is currently handling it, where responsibilities or processes may be breaking down, and whether the operation would benefit from clearer ownership, process changes, additional staffing, better use of existing systems, automation, or a combination of these.

What if my industry is not shown on this page?

The businesses shown are examples, not a complete list. If your company depends on people, processes, management, communication, and consistent day-to-day execution, Operational Performance™ may still be appropriate for your business.
